A "Big Day" for Girl Scouts

I didn't have time to post yesterday because I decided to join the crowds downtown for "The Big Day" celebration. While we didn't go down as a troop, a number of our girls were down there with their families, and I couldn't resist checking it out.

I wasn't sure what to expect, but even I have to admit I was pretty impressed by the sea of green. It was also great to see so many local businesses and organizations coming out to show their support and connect with Girl Scouts. While there was plenty of fun and games for the kids, from a leader's perspective, it was great to be able to pick up information and resources - came back with some good ideas for our troop.

My photos weren't great, but you can check out a recap and photo gallery in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

I know similar events have been held at Councils throughout the U.S. to help celebrate the 100th anniversary of Girl Scouting. Did you attend yours? If so, what did you think?
